Pneumatic diaphragm valve DIASTAR 025
7
Service
7.1
Maintenance plan
Interval
Regularly
1 - 2 times a year
50,000 actuations for 10 bar and 6 bar nominal pressure at
20°C and water
► Under deviating operating conditions (e.g. higher temperatures, medium with abrasive effect), it is recommended to carry out
more frequent checks.
WARNING!
Check regularly for wear!
Components coming into contact with medium during operation are subject to wear and tear. Frequent positional movement or the
use if aggressive chemical or contaminated medium results in frequent service being necessary.
► Regular implementation of visual and functional inspections of the valve corresponding to the conditions of use and the hazard
potential aids in preventing leakage and damage.
► Disassembling of the valve and checking the valve internally for wear and tear at the appropriate intervals.
► Adjust the service intervals to the usage conditions and the resulting load of the valve.
► Worn components inside the valve must be replaced immediately.
► Wear appropriate protective equipment.
WARNING!
Leaking gasket!
Danger of injury due to escaping medium because of damage, aged or incorrectly lubricated gaskets.
► Store gaskets if possible in a cool (room temperature), dry and dark place.
► Before installing them, the gaskets have to be checked on possible aging damages, such as fissures and hardenings.
► Regular inspection of damage and replace gaskets as needed.
► Lubricate the gaskets with silicone or Polyol based grease. Do not use mineral oil-based greases or Vaseline (Petrolatum).
► Observe the special manufacturers notes for paint-compatible valves (LABS cleaned).
DANGER!
Do not grease the upper part of the housing!
The use of grease, especially on amorphous plastics, can cause stress cracking on the valve body. There can be consequences after
contact with hazardous medium. The functioning of the valve is no longer guaranteed.
► Do not use any grease on the threaded connection between the upper part of the housing and the valve body.

► Check the connection between top part and valve body for
leakage.
► Press to check functionality of permanently open or closed
diaphragm valves.
► Perform a visual inspection of the valve body.
► Disassemble actuator and check diaphragm for damage.
