Preliminary verifi cations
Preliminary operations:
– If necessary perform a compensation run (C4
7.1.1).
– Check the wheel is clamped correctly (
– Select the Type of Vehicle (
– Read the rim dimension parameters (
5.8.1 Measuring Imbalance
Having completed the preliminary operations, a
Measuring run can be launched:
— Close the wheel guard.
or, if disabled the automatic measuring run,
— Close the wheel guard and press START.
— Starting from the completely lifted position, lower
the wheel guard, at medium speed without stops
or jerks even to the side.
Note:
You must be very careful when lowering
the guard, as the machine simultaneously
detects the width of the rim on the outside
of the wheel.
The BALANCING screen is displayed (Fig. 5-19).
After measurement the balance weights can be fi tted
or a weight minimisation or optimisation run can be
carried out.
The specifi c icon with yellow profi le (1, Fig.5-19) and
the value of static unbalance with yellow background
inside the wheel (2, Fig.5-19), indicate that the
machine suggests to carry out a weight Optimisation
or Minimisation procedure.
The display shows the unbalance measured for
each correction plane and the rotation direction for
positioning.
5.8.2

Results recalculation

After the measuring run it is possible to change the wheel
dimensions or select different positions for the application
of the counterweights. The new imbalance values will be
displayed automatically, based on the data entered.
To have a recalculation done:
• Select the preferred application mode. Check and/
or edit rim or offset plane data when necessary.
• Rotate the wheel to the left plane WAP position and
apply the weight.
• Rotate the wheel to the right plane WAP position
and apply the weight.
• Perform a test run.
