3.7. Maintenance
The collection cup should be cleaned regularly (daily or weekly, depending on the organic load).
The reaction pipe of the skimmer needs to be cleaned only sometimes. The venturi pump should
also be removed and cleaned regularly. The pump has to be removed and the complete pump
housing and mesh wheel flushed with clean water. The same procedure should be undertaken with
the air injection nozzle.
For cleaning, pull the power plug first and then remove the filter basket. The basket has to be hold
on both marks and then to be removed. If the basket is hold at other points (e. g. at the front), it
cannot be removed. Take care not to tilt it. The shaft may break.
Now, the entire impeller can be pulled out. It can be cleaned under running water and then be re-
inserted.
3.8. Problems
Problems may arise if the ration of drawn air and water is not correct. The reasons could be:
-
Air intake nozzle, tube connection or tube is clogged or calcified.
-
Measure: Remove and clean it thoroughly.
When the pump is taken into operation the first time, it has to run for approx. 24 hours. During
this time, noise can occur that ceases later on.
