Problem
Pump does not start
Impeller blocked
Reduced pump performance
5. Trouble Shooting
Possible Cause
– No power available
– Fuse faulty
– Power supply chord damaged
– Float switch damaged or stuck
– Overheated
– Debris, contaminants, blockage are
jammed between impeller and
intake flange
– Suction basket clogged
– Wear and tear on intake flange
– Wear and tear on impeller
– Ventilation hole not open or clogged
Corrective Measures
– Check power supply
– Replace fuse
– Repairs only from licensed electricians
– Replace float switch (repair or replacement of
float switch only from licensed electrician)
– Pump will automatically return to operation
when it has properly cooled
– Clean pump (see Section 3)
– Clean pump (see Section 3)
– Replace intake flange
– Replace impeller
– Clear ventilation hole (or drill open)
