6.4 Adjustments
Adjustments of automatic control pressure switch
Principle :
The adjustment is made by turning the nut (item 1) to set the high
point (stopping of pump) and the nut (item 2) to adjust the low
point (starting of pump).
- Turning the nut (item 1) clockwise increases the value of the hight
point.
- Turning the nut (item 2) clockwise decreses the value of the low
point (the difference increases).
Before adjusting pressure switches PR1 and PR2 , choose the starting
and stopping pressures (if necessary, use the nomographs).
Proceed as follows :
Remove the cover of contactor PR1.
Turn the nuts (item 1 and 2) fully clockwise
without tightening them.
Set the switch of one pump to "MANU" and hold to increase the
pressure in the installation.
Release the switch at the desired pump stopping pressure
(read on pressure gauge).
Turn the nut (item 1) anticlockwise until there
is an audible click.
Open the discharge valve to lower the pressure to the desired
pump starting level
(read on pressure gauge).
Turn the nut (item 2) anticlockwise.
If there is a click.
Set the switch of one pump to
"AUTO" and hold to check your
adjustments.

Commission
Note : The high points (stopping - pressures) of the two pumps are
the same. The low points (starting - pressures) should be staggered
0.5 bar. Pf of PR2 < 0.5 Pf of PR1.
If no click.
Check your operating points
and the tank
pre-pressurization pressure
(it must be 0.3 bar less than
the pump starting
pressure).
If necessary, choose 2 new
points and adjust the pre-
pressurization pressure.
Dry-running pressure switch (town water supply)
Principle :
On dry-running pressure drop, closing of pressure switch and stop-
ping of pumps. After return of water, restarting of the pumps. The
pressure switch is preset in the plant (0,5 bar). To change this value,
proceed as follows :
Turn the difference screw (item 1)
fully clockwise but do not tighten it.
Turn this screw (item 1) a quarter turn
Remove the locking pin (item 2) from the disc (item 3).
Turn the pressure disc (item 3) fully
Close the suction valve. Open the discharge valve until the desired
dry-running pressure is reached (read on pressure gauge).
Turn the disc (item 3) clockwise until a click can be heard. The dry-
running indicator on the box goes off
(flashes if electronic box and three-pump version).
Reinsert the locking pin (item 2).
Put the cover back on.
Float switch (tank supply)
Adjust the float so that there is always at least approximately 40 cm
of water above the inlet ports to overcome the resistance of the
check valve-strainer.
6.6 Starting up
The maximum service pressure in the installation es equal to the zero-
flow pressure of the pumps plus any tow water pressure at the boos-
ter inlet.
On the box, set the general disconnecting switch to "I" ant the selec-
tor switches of the pumps to "AUTO".
Automatic operation of the booster is then under the control of the
pressure switches and the timers.
Do not let the pump run with the discharge valve
ATTENTION !
closed for more than a few minutes
7. MAINTENANCE
- The booster needs no particular maintenance in the course of ope-
ration.
- The motors bearings are lubricated for life.
- The mechanical packing needs no maintenance in the course of
operation.
- In frosty weather and for prolonged stoppages of the pump, it must
be drained by unscrewing the bottom plug.
Fill the pump before using again.
ATTENTION !
