Servicing Procedure

The Gas Control Valve is located at the bottom of the gas train and can be accessed
by the manifold service panel. See figure 1.
1. Turn off the electrical supply to the heater.
2. Turn off the pump.
3. Turn OFF the
manual gas supply
valve to the heater.
4. Remove the water
manifold service
panel. Using a
flat-blade
screwdriver, insert
press and turn
the screwdriver to
unlock the panel.
5. Disconnect and discard the plastic tubing from the gas control valve "VENT"
port.
6. Disconnect and discard the tubing between the blower, and the air flow switch
and install the new plastic tubing (provided in the kit).
7. Unscrew completely the union nearest to the gas valve on both sides
8. Remove the gas piping from the old valve and install it in the new valve. Use
thread sealant approved for natural gas and Lp gas.
9. Replace the Gas Control Valve by screwing the union on both sides of the gas
valve.

12. Turn on the pump and the electric power to the heater.
13. Test for gas leaks with a soapy water solution.
