Cleaning and care
For hygiene reasons, the interior of the appliance including interior accessories should be
cleaned regularly. The appliance should be cleaned and maintained at least every two months.
WARNING!

Risk of electric shock!

The appliance must not be plugged into the mains during cleaning. Switch the appliance off
and remove the plug from the mains before cleaning. Then switch off the circuit breaker or
remove the fuse.
Note
• Remove all food from the appliance before cleaning. Keep the food covered in a cool place.
• Never clean the appliance using a steam cleaner. Moisture may accumulate in the electrical
components.
• Warm vapours can cause damage to plastic parts.
• Ethereal oils and organic solvents can damage plastic elements, e.g. lemon juice or juice
from orange zest, butyric acid or any cleaning product containing acetic acid..
• Do not use abrasive cleaning products.
• Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and warm water. Commercially
available washing-up liquid can also be used.
• Wipe the product with clean water using a clean cloth after cleaning.
• The accumulation of dust on the condenser increases energy consumption;
clean the condenser at the back of the appliance once a year using a soft haired brush or
vacuum cleaner. (Only for products with an external condenser).
• Check the water drainage hole located in the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment.
• Unblock a blocked drainage hole using an item such as flexible rod and make sure that the
body of the appliance is not damaged in any way by sharp objects.
• Switch the appliance on again after all the elements have dried.

Defrosting
Defrosting the compartment used to store fresh food
The water produced by defrosting is automatically drained into the drip tray through a drainage
hose at the back of the appliance.

Noises whilst using the appliance
• Clicking - Clicking can be heard each time the compressor switches on or off.
• Humming - You will hear humming as soon as the compressor starts.
• Bubbling- You will hear bubbling and splashing noises when the coolant flows through the
fine tubes.
• Splashing - This noise can be heard for a short length of time even after the compressor
has stopped.
Energy saving tips
• Do not install the appliance near ovens, radiators or any other sources of heat.
• Make sure that the appliance is kept open from a minimal amount of time.
• Do not adjust the temperature to a colder setting than is necessary.
• Make sure that the side and rear plates of the appliance are at a certain distance from the
wall and follow the installation instructions.
• If the diagram indicates the correct combination of drawers, crisper and shelves, do not
change the combination as this would affect the energy consumption.
