Service Unit
The Jäger spindle is equipped with a sealing-air
E N
feature. This sealing air prevents shavings/chips
and dust from entering the spindle. The service
unit filters possible contamination in the sealing
air and thus prevents costly machine damage.

▷ Mount the service unit on the rear side of the
machine using the knurled screws [1].
▷ Connect the 250 mm compressed-air hose [2]
to the right-hand connection (viewed from the
front) of the service unit and to the com-
pressed-air connection [5] of the Ceramill
Motion 2.

and the other end to the compressed-air supply
of the laboratory.
Requirements for the compressed-air supply
For operation, the compressed air must fulfil the
following minimum requirements:
_ Flow rate: 50 l/min (1.77 CFM)
_ Pressure: 6 bar / 87 psi
Requirements on air purity:
_ Solid contaminants: Class 3;
5 m or less for solids
_ Water content: Class 4;
max. pressure dew point +3°C
_ Total oil content: Class 2;
max. oil content 0.1 mg/m
In continuous operation, the pressure and the air-
flow rate are monitored by the Ceramill Motion 2.
When the required values are fallen below, the
5
milling program stops. Once the correct air values
are available again, the milling program can be
continued after fault acknowledgement in the
software.
