d) Checking outdoor temperature
When the system is first installed, the LC display will show the default setting "- -˚C".
Once the caller unit detects the outdoor temperature, the correct reading will be
shown on the LC display of the handset. To obtain a correct reading of the outdoor
temperature, do not block the temperature sensor (6).

f) Automatic backlight
Once the brightness sensor (5) detects a low light intensity, the Call
the caller unit will be backlit automatically (only when 12 V supply is available).
13. Out of communication range
• Whenever the handset is located at a spot which is outside the communication range
of the caller unit, an alarm will be heard and the Out of range icon (D)
on the LCD screen.
• Such alarm is not immediate and will alert you only when you are out of range for
over 2 minutes (when 12 V supply is available or 20 minutes if battery power is used).
• Press any button briefly can stop the alarm but the Out of range icon (D)
remains lit.
• Once the handset falls back in range, the alarm stops and the Out of range icon (D)
disappears.
• This out of range alert will also activate when the battery level of the caller unit is low
and its 12 V power is cut off.
