Your Portasol P-1 contains flammable gas under pressure, use
with care. Keep out of reach of children. Refill away from flame
with standard butane lighter fuel. Keep your Portasol P-1 away
from face when igniting. Do ensure flames are extinguished be-
fore putting down. Hot gases emitted from all exhaust ports. Do
not expose to heat above 120°F (50°C) and avoid prolonged ex-
posure to the sun. Do not puncture or incinerate. Do not refill,
ignite or use near flame or combustible materials. Do not replace
cap without first switching off and ensuring tip has cooled. Do
not attempt to readjust our repair. This product is not user
serviceable. Always return the soldering equipment to its original
holder, when it is not needed.
NOTE:
Should the flames not extinguish within 30 seconds fit a
replacement tip.
Instructions
1. Gas filling
- Adapters are not normally required when
refilling.
- Hold unit vertically with the filling valve face
upwards. Push the gas refill cylinder onto the
filling valve.
- Make sure the on/off switch is in the off
position before filling. (Fuel not included.)
2. Ignition
Set the temperature regulator to mid position, then holdering
your Portasol P-1 away from the face and body, push the switch
towards the tip, this will release the gas. Activate the flint ignitor
with the other hand, holdering it in close proximity to the tip,
pointing the stream of sparks at the exhaust ports.
