Mounting xenon flashing beacon
Hella - Part No. 2RL 008 366 - ...
Hella flashing beacons are officially
type-approved to comply with ECE - R
65. They must be mounted at the
highest point of the vehicle and be at
right angles to the road when the
vehicle is loaded normally.
The flashing beacons are interference
suppressed and comply with
interference suppression level 5
according to VDO 0879 part 3. They
have been approved by the EU to
comply with RL: 72/245 EWG in the
version 95/54 EG e1 021 775 .

Flashing beacons are for all high-
priority road users such as police, fire
brigade, accident unit, ambulance etc.
Mount the flashing beacon vertically
on a surface which is parallel to the
vehicle plane. The light beam of the
beacon should shine parallel to the
plane of the road surface if the beacon
has been mounted correctly.
The mounting surface must be free of
dirt, water, ice, snow, leaves etc.!
Note ! Max. admissible speed is
200 km/h !
The electrical connection ( fused

through the car window.
Care must be taken that the
connecting wire is neither pinched nor
kinked!
When not in use the beacon unit must
be stored in the vehicle in such a way
that it does not impede the driver and
front seat passenger in any way during
driving.

Note for authorised staff or
specialised workshop:
In case of a fault in the high-voltage
area the operating voltage must be
switched off before the device is
opened and a waiting period of > 3
minutes must be observed.
Replacing the flash tube:
Remove the securing screw. Turn the
light dome to the left to loosen and
then remove it. Unscrew the protective
grid as shown in the illustration.
Remove faulty flash tube (Hella N°
8GS 859 634-001) and replace it.
Screw the flashing beacon together
again in reverse order.
