11. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
11.1 Connect the battery cable assembly to the INC-8A with the quick-connect connector on
the back of the unit.
11.2 Connect the battery cable assembly to the battery as described in sections 6 and 7.
11.3 Plug the INC-8A into a 120V AC wall outlet.
NOTE: The INC-8A intermittently draws more than 15 amps of current. We recommend
that you either install a 20 amp circuit or do not run anything else on the same circuit as
the INC-8A or you may trip the breaker supplying the AC power.
11.4 Turn the MAIN POWER switch to the ON position. When the charger powers up, the
LCD screen defaults to and displays 8V FAST on the top line and CONNECT BATTERY
blinking on the bottom line. The charger also checks for a properly connected battery.
When it finds one, the display changes to show the voltage of the battery on the top line
and PRESS ON blinking on the bottom line (referring to the CHARGE ON/OFF button).
11.5 Press the CHARGE VOLTAGE button to select the correct battery voltage of either 6V or 8V.
11.6 Press the CHARGE MODE button to select the correct battery type and charge rate:
FAST: 35 minute charge for motive power, golf cart and deep cycle batteries. Maximum
charge rate for large batteries that can accept up to 65 Amps of charging current.
FULL: Up to 480 minute charge for motive power, golf cart and deep cycle batteries.
Maximum charge rate for large batteries that can accept up to 65 Amps of charging current.
11.7 Press the CHARGE ON/OFF button to start the charge cycle.
11.8 After pressing the button, the display shows the selected charge mode on the top line

0.2V. The automatic charger will not start. If you would like to start manually, press and
hold the CHARGE ON/OFF button for 5 seconds until the charge cycle starts.
