6.2
Storage
Observe the storage temperature according to the technical data in these
operating instruction.
Dry environment, in a closed room, with a humidity between
40 % and 50 %. The storage location must be clean, dry, level, well
ventilated and free from rodents. Safe distance from daily activities that
can damage the battery pack for the ExLin NE + luminaire.
Avoid temperature fluctuations.
Otherwise there is the possibility of condensation forming inside the
battery pack
It is recommended that equipment in storage be inspected every 2
months to identify any occurrence of corrosion, moisture, or other signs of
damage.
Charge the battery pack for the ExLin NE + luminaire no later than 6
months after the production date, then every 6 months at the latest.

The green LED's indicate the battery's charge state and operational.
The red LED signals possible failures.

Automatic test function
7.2.1 Function test (FT)
The function test is carried out in the 1.5 hour mode with the increased
discharge current or increased luminous flux.
A function test (FT) is carried out automamtically on a weekly basis. Here
the emergency light os switched over to battery operation and tested for
ca. 5 mins. The test is indicated by the flalshing green LED.
7.2.2 Partial operating time test (TBT)
The partial operating time test is carried out in 1.5 h mode with the
increased discharge current or increased luminous flux. A TBT occurs every
3 months. Emergency light operation takes place for approx. 35 minutes.

8.3.1. Charging battery for the first time
Install the battery pack in the ExLin NE + luminaire and put the luminaire
into operation. The battery pack needs approx. 14 hours to fully charge at
constant mains voltage.
If the ambient temperature is below 0 °C, a built-in heater first heats the
battery pack in the ExLin NE + luminaire to the optimum temperature for
charging.
8.3.2 Charging during operation
The built-in control in the ExLin NE + luminaire continuously monitors the
battery pack.
The internal heating ensures that the cells in the battery pack are always in
the optimal temperature range.
The deep discharge protection with restart lock monitors the battery
voltage in the event of a power failure and prevents deep discharge of the
cells.
The battery capacity, which is reduced by self-discharge in normal
operation, is controlled and recharged by the microprocessor.
8.4
The duration of the emergency lighting can be set at 1.5 or 3 hours; see
operating Instructions ExLin NE+ (30080002309).
The emergency lighting mode is activated automatically by the function
(FT)and partial operating time test (TBT)or a mains failure, or manually by
switching off the supply voltage.
Here the emergency lighting lamp that is marked green switches over to
battery operation.
