Failure to create a seal to the fi rebox with the exhaust collar assembly will cause the appliance to function
improperly and can cause injury or property damage.
A.
Remove the safety barrier and glass front (see "safety barrier
& door removal / installation" section).
B.
Remove the contents from the fi rebox and set aside. You will
need the exhaust fl ue collar and the top baffl e (supplied).
C.
To ease assembly, remove the four hex head screws
securing the defl ector from inside the top front of the fi rebox
(Fig. 1). Set defl ector aside.
D.
Remove the four screws securing the rear heat shield, set
aside the shield. Remove the four screws securing the
gasket and outer coverplate. (Fig. 2).
E.
Secure the gasket and the 8" intake collar provided to the
rear opening and replace the rear heat shield.
F.
Secure the gasket (provided in the manual baggie)
and the outer coverplate over the top opening of the
appliance. Secure the fl ue collar assembly, gasket and
rear exit shield using the four hex head 3/8" thread cutting
screws (Fig. 3).
note:
Do not overtighten. The gasket needs only to be snug against the fi rebox.
G.
Replace the defl ector. Rest the front edge of the top baffl e in the four slots
on the defl ector. Rest the rear edge of the top baffl e (complete with defl ector)
on the tabs of the fl ue collar assembly. Reattach the defl ector (complete with
top baffl e) using the four screws removed in step C (Fig. 4). Install the log set,
glass door and safety barrier.

rear exit shield (for rear vent only)
A.
Loosen the two screws, that secure the exhaust
plate, and slide the baffl e in place by sliding its slotted
openings behind the screwheads, tighten the two
previously loosened screws. Refer to the illustration.
B.
Reinstall the door and safety barrier assembly on
the appliance (see "safety barrier & door removal /
installation" section).
note:
This shield is used to block the view through the
venting to the outdoors.
