Flue gas outlet and combustion air suction
C
The discharge conduit and the connection to the chimney must
be built in accordance with the local and national standards and/
or regulations.
The exhaust system must be made using rigid ducting, the
joints between elements must be hermetically sealed and all
components must be resistant to heat, condensation and me-
chanical stress and vibration.
The boilers are equipped with a flue gas thermostat located on
the left side of the hood, which, in the event of any back-flow of
the combustion products, promptly interrupts the operation of
the boiler.
The flue gas exhaustion monitoring system must never be by-
passed or rendered inoperable.
The combustion air openings must be made in accordance with
the technical standards.
Non-insulated outlet pipes are potential sources of danger.
It is prohibited to cover or reduce the size of the ventilation
openings in the room where the boiler is installed.
1.10 system loading and emptying
Once the hydraulic connections have been carried out, fill the sys-
tem.
LOADING
- Open the automatic air vent valve cap (A) by two or three turns.
- Make sure the cold water inlet tap is open, by turning it anti-clock-
wise.
- Open the filling tap (B) until the pressure indicated by the water
pressure gauge is between 1 and 1.5 bar.
- Close the filling tap.

NOTE: Delineation of the boiler occurs automatically through the au-
tomatic venting valve placed on the circulator. Check that the venting
valve is open.
EMPTYING
Before starting emptying, switch off the electricity supply by turning
off the main switch of the system.
Close the cold water inlet tap.
a) Heating system:
- Close the shut-off devices of the heating system.
- Connect the standard issue pipe to the system discharge valve
- Manually loosen the system drain valve (C)
b) Domestic hot water system:
- Open the hot and cold water taps and empty the lowest points.
NOTE: the discharge of the safety valve (D) must be connected to
a suitable collection system. The manufacturer is not responsible for
possible damages due to safety valve operation.
1.11 Adjustments
The START KI boiler is supplied for operation with Methane gas
(G20) and is factory set as shown on the rating plate.
However, if the adjustments must be reset, for example after spe-
cial maintenance, replacement of the gas valve, or conversion from
methane gas to LPG, the following procedures must be adopted.
- Turn the main system switch to "OFF".
- Remove the casing by loosening the fastening screws.
- Press the side buttons on the control panel and then rotate it for-
- Loosen the screw of the pressure test point downstream from the
