Thank you for choosing this GYS product; please read this instruction manual carefully before installing and using the
product, and keep in a safe place for future reference.
This product has been designed to carry out the following operations in a car body workshop: dent pulling with
inertia hammer, welding of rings and wavy wire, impact shrinking. It is not designed for the assembly of metal parts.
This device is delivered with a cable with earth plate, a gun with trigger, an accessories box with consumables.
A 12V careless battery (sealed caps) should be used, with maximum size : height : 250mm, length : 350mm, width:
175mm. The capacity of the battery should be minimum 60Ah. Ideally, a 95Ah battery is recommended. The battery
must be charged again after each use.
The battery location is described on page 19 of this manual. Switch off the product. Unscrew the rear panel, to
access inside the product. Place the battery inside and use the provided fixations to permanently install the battery
inside the product. For a 60Ah battery, use the 5 straps provided, and place one on each side. For a 95Ah battery,
use only 3 straps, 2 on the front of the battery, and 1 on the back.
Pressing on button (4) (figure page 2) will allow to read the battery voltage on the display (5).
In order to make a correct measurement, leave the battery to rest 1h if the product has just been used. If the
battery has just been charged, leave it to rest for 1h, in order for the voltage to stabilize. In case of cold weather,
0.2V should be deducted from the voltage displayed.
If the voltage displayed lies between 12.8V and 13.1V, the battery is correctly charged for optimum use.
If the voltage displayed lies between 12.4V and 12.8V, the battery is charged only at 50%; the performances of the
product are degraded, and it is not recommended for the battery to use any further. Charge the battery.
If the voltage displayed lies below 12.4V, the charge of the battery is very weak. It must be charged again. If this
rule is not respected, the battery may deeply discharge within 24h, and finally sulphate, making it out of order.
It is recommended to use a 12V automatic battery charger, capable of delivering a charge current between 10 and
15A. Never charge the battery beyond 20A. The following GYS battery chargers are recommended :
The battery must be charged again after each use. If this rule is not respected, the battery may deeply discharge
within 24h, and finally sulphate, making it out of order.
On the left hand side of the product, 2 terminals can be accessed to connect the clamps of the battery charger.
Caution : the polarity must absolutely be respected. If the polarity is inverted, the fuse will blow up, and will
therefore need to be replaced. Also pay attention to possible contacts between the clamps (if they are not
insulated), as the fuse will also blow up in this case.
The product is equipped with a 25A fuse. If the polarities are inverted when charging the battery, the fuse will blow-
up. If a short-circuit occurs between the battery charger clamps (in case they are not insulated), the fuse will blow-
up also. Fuse reference : 054516 (set of 10 pcs).
