- The brake engages automatically in case of a strong kickback produced by brake lever inertia
(fig.30).
Chain brake
Your chain saw is fitted with a safety chain brake to lock the chain in position (in the event of a
kickback) in a fraction of a second.
-
The brake is automatically operated in the event of a kickback by the inertia of the brake
lever (fig.30).
Always hold the chain saw with both hands (wherever possible).
Always remember that the chain brake does not represent a total protection.
It is therefore crucial to avoid all the hazard situations explained in the previous SAFETY
DEVICE CHAPTER (points of paragraphs A19).
The chain brake can also be manually inserted by pushing it forward.
-
-
To release the brake, pull the lever towards the handles (fig.37).
Before starting each job:
-
check manually that the lever click releases both forwards and backwards.
put the chain saw on a safe surface.
-
start the engine.
-
engage the brake (fig 30).
-
take with both hands.
-
push deeply the throttle trigger for very few time (around 2 seconds)if the chain starts
-
moving, if the clicks are not released or the chain brakelever becomes hard, do not use
the chain saw. Please ask to a qualified service center
-
Periodically take off the chain brake cover (fig.1 item 19) to remove shavings and
sawdust.
Fuel mix adjustment
ENGINE "IDLE" SPEED ADJUSTMENT SCREW [T]
-
The fuel of your chain saw has been factory set on standard values (fig.21).
-
The screw [T]: keeps the butterfly valve in a slightly open position in order to adjust the
engine "IDLE " speed at the correct rotation speed.
WARNING DANGER!! A high "idle" speed adjustment can cause the operation of the
centrifugal clutch and therefore operate the cutting chain even if the throttle lever is
released.
-
The engine idle speed is increased by turning the screw clockwise.
-
See the technical data table.
