ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO CHECK AND ALIGN THE RIVING KNIFE AND SAW BLADE (FIG.21-22)
If the riving knife is out of alignment with the saw blade, adjustment is needed.
• Unplug the saw.
• Raise the saw blade by turning the height adjusting knob clockwise.
• Remove the anti-kickback pawls and blade guard assembly. Place a framing
square or straight edge against both the saw blade and the riving knife.
(see Fig. 21)
NOTE: Place framing square between carbide teeth and measure from blade.
This step will insure framing square is square against blade from the front to back
of blade.
• The saw blade and riving knife are aligned when the framing square contacts both
the blade and riving knife evenly with no gaps.
TO ADJUST
• Remove the anti-kickback pawls and blade guard assembly.
• Loosen the screws holding the mounting bracket. (see Fig. 22)
• Reposition the riving knife left or right as needed to align the riving knife with the
saw blade.
• Once properly aligned, securely retighten the screws.
NOTE: The blade guard and riving kinfe must always be correctly aligned so that
the cut workpiece will pass on either side of the plitter without binding or twisting to
the side.
WARNING: Improper riving knife alignment can cause kickback and serious
injury.
INSTALL THE TABLE EXTENSIONS (FIG.23-24)
NOTE: Make sure the front mounting tube has the measuring scale visible from
the front of the saw.
• Insert the table extension mounting tubes (3) into the two matching holes.
• Slide the table extension towards the table until it rests against the saw blade.
• Thread the two clamp bolts (2) into worktable and tighten them.
• Thread the stop screw (1) into the hole of the extension tube (3).
• Install the left hand table side extension the same manner.
