Never grind on the side surfaces of the grind-
ing disc. Grinding on the side surfaces can cause
the grinding disc to break and fall apart.
Device-specific safety instructions for bench
grinders
• Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged or cut
during operation. Immediately disconnect the mains
plug and then have the device repaired exclusively
by a specialist or the responsible service centre.
• Do not operate the device when it is damp or in a
damp environment.
• When working outdoors, connect the device via a
residual current device (RCD) with a maximum trig-
ger current of 30 mA. Only use an extension cable
approved for outdoor use.
• Pull the mains plug out of the socket immediately in
the event of danger.
• Always guide the mains cable backwards away from
the device.
• Fire hazard due to flying sparks! Flying sparks occur
when grinding metals. Therefore, make absolutely
sure that no persons are endangered and that there
are no flammable materials near the work area.
• Warning! Toxic vapours! Processing harmful / poi-
sonous dusts poses a health risk for the operator
or bystanders. Wear safety goggles, hearing pro-
tection, dust protection mask and protective gloves.
• Danger of burning! The workpiece becomes hot
during grinding. Never touch it to the area to be ma-
chined and let it cool down sufficiently. Particularly
when sanding for a longer period of time, always
interrupt the grinding process and allow the work-
piece to cool down before you continue grinding.
A continuous operation of 10 minutes should not
be exceeded.
• The double grinding machine is designed for dry
surface grinding of metal surfaces. The device may
only be used for dry grinding.
• Do not machine material containing asbestos. As-
bestos is considered carcinogenic. Do not use dam-
aged grinding discs.
• Only use grinding discs whose data match the ma-
chine's type plate. The orbital velocity should be
equal to or greater than the specified number.
• Periodically readjust the protective holders (spark
deflectors) and protective panels so that the wear of
the grinding discs is evened out. Keep the distance
as low as possible.
• Avoid contact with the running grinding disc.
• Do not operate the device unattended.
• Never misuse the device.
• Always make sure that the device is switched off be-
fore inserting the mains plug into the socket.
• Always switch on the device first and then guide the
workpiece against the grinding disc. After machin-
ing, lift the workpiece and then switch off the device.
• Always hold the workpiece firmly with both hands.
• Make sure that you have a secure footing.
• Allow the grinding disc(s) to come to a complete
stop after working on metals.
• Always disconnect the mains plug from the socket
during breaks in work, before carrying out any work
on the device and when it is not in use.
• Handle the device with care and attention. The de-
vice must always be clean, dry and free of oil or
grease.
• Remain attentive at all times! Always pay atten-
tion to what you are doing and always use common
sense. Never use the device when you are not con-
centrated or feel unwell.
• Grinding discs must be stored in such a way that
they are not exposed to mechanical damage and
damaging environmental influences.
• Do not use defective or deformed grinding discs.
• Check the setting of the spark protection frequently
and adjust it according to the wear of the grinding
disc. Keep the distance between the spark protec-
tion and the grinding disc as small as possible (not
more than 2 mm).
• Check the setting of the tool support frequently and
adjust it according to the wear of the grinding disc.
Keep the distance between the spark protection and
the grinding disc as small as possible (not more than
2 mm).
• Only use grinding discs whose hole fits exactly on
the shaft of the bench grinder. Do not use grinding
discs with too small a hole.
• Do not overtighten the washer nut.
• Do not grind with a cold grinding disc. Allow the
grinding disc to idle for one minute before starting
work.
• Do not grind on the side surfaces of the grinding
disc. Grind only on the front side.
• Do not apply coolant directly on the grinding disc.
Coolant can affect the bond strength of the grinding
disc, causing it to fail.
• Sparks can be dangerous. Do not sand near flam-
mable gases or liquids.
• Stand to the side of the grinding disc when switching
on the device.
