ADJUST THE SANDING BELT TRACKING
1.
Quickly turn the power ON and then OFF while watching the end of the belt
jutting out from the base. Adjust the tracking if the belt slides towards the
front or rear.
2.
Move the tracking control knob (G) a 1/4 turn. Move downward if the belt
moved to the front. Move upward if the belt slid towards the rear.
3.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the tracking is correct. You may need to reduce
to a 1/8 turn to refine the tracking.
ADJUST PLATFORM ANGLE
Reposition the belt sander from horizontal to 90º vertical, based on the work being
done. Ensure you are able to work comfortably at the chosen angle to avoid fatigue
and injury.
1.
Insert the 6 mm hex key into the bolt on the rear of the belt sander
platform and loosen.
2.
Raise or lower the platform until it has reached the desired angle.
3.
Tighten the bolt again to secure the platform in place.
4.
Replace the work guard with the work table when sanding with the
platform at an angle.
SANDING DISC
1.
The sanding disc rotates counterclockwise. Place the workpiece on the
work table and slowly push it into the left side of the sanding disc. This will
prevent a kickback.
2.
Move towards the sanding disc's outer edge to remove more material and
closer to the center to remove less material.
SANDING
1.
Hold the workpiece firmly and lightly press against the sanding belt (F). Use
the work guard (A) or work table (E) for support during sanding. Apply just
enough pressure to remove the desired amount of material. Move the
workpiece back and forth across the belt.
