Weekly Care And Cleaning
NOTE: All maintenance should be done in the kitchen or bathroom on a water resistant surface.
To properly clean your humidifier we recommend the process of scale removal and
disinfecting shown on pages 8 and 9 of this manual.
Scale Removal directions:
WARNING: DO NOT submerge base in water or any other liquids. Doing so will damage the humidifier.
CAUTION: If using accessories with your humidifier such as a demineralization cartridge or
Protec Cleaning Cartridge, remove these before cleaning and set aside.
These accessories cannot be cleaned. Doing so will damage the accessories.

1. CAUTION: ALWAYS TURN OFF THE POWER SWITCH AND DISCONNECT THE POWER CORD FROM THE
ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE CLEANING.
2. Remove Water Tank and empty base of any water.
3. Remove mist nozzle and water tank cap and set aside.
4. Fill water tank from bottom and water tray area of base with 1 cup of distilled white vinegar.

5. Place mist nozzle and tank cap in water tray area of base to soak.
6. Soak for 15-20 minutes.
7. Using a soft cloth, gently clean transducer area in base to remove mineral deposits.
8. Rinse water tray area of base, water tank, tank cap and mist nozzle until the smell of
solution is gone.
CAUTION: DO NOT IMMERSE BASE IN WATER
9. To clean the scent pad area, gently wipe out scent pad heater area
with a soft damp cloth. DO NOT USE VINEGAR OR BLEACH SOLUTION
TO CLEAN THIS AREA.

Disinfecting Directions - Disinfect Following Scale Removal

1. Add 1 Teaspoon of bleach to 1 gallon (3.8L) water.
2. Add ½ to ¾ gallon (1.9-2.8L) of water/bleach solution to water reservoir of the main housing
and water tank.
3. Follow steps 5 through 8 from the scaling section (page 8).
Note: Please be careful of clothing, rugs and other non bleach resistant materials when
disinfecting. Spilling bleach on clothing, rugs and certain surfaces may cause damage.
NOTE: USING MORE THAN 1 TEASPOON OF BLEACH PER GALLON (3.8L) OF WATER WILL
RESULT IN DAMAGE TO YOUR HUMIDIFIER.

1. Snap mist nozzle back into opening on top of tank.
2. Assemble water cap back on base of tank.
3. Place tank back onto base of unit.
