USER INSTRUCTION MANUAL

1 - Compulsory Information
Please read these instructions carefully before unpacking your S4 product. Failure ta comply with the
instructions in this leaflet may void your warranty and adversely affect your health. If you have any questions
regarding the suitability of this product to your task, please contact an occupational hygienist or call the
manufacturers technical help line.

2 - Warnings
Heat and radiation that can cause eye and skin injuries are emitted during the welding process. This product
provides eye and face protection. Appropriate additional safety clothing must be worn to protect the rest of
the body. Some people may suffer allergic reactions to particles and substances that are released during the
welding process. Materials that come into contact with skin may cause allergic reactions to susceptible
persons.
The helmet must always be used with the autodarkening cartridge and suitable lenses. Never use uncertified
autodarkening cartridges or lenses. The helmet is suitable for all of established welding procedures except
for gas and laser welding.
The welding helmet may not be used for overhead welding, since there is a risk of injury from falling melted
metal.
3 - Uses
Head band. Please adjust the upper adjusting strap to your head size. Depress ratchet knob and rotate until
the head band sits firmly yet comfortably.
Eye distance and helmet inclination. The distance between the autodarkening cartridge and the eyes is
adjusted by releasing the locking knobs. Adjust to the same extent at both sides without jamming. Then
retighten the locking knobs.
The helmet inclination can be adjusted using the rotary knob.
Shade level. By turning central knob select a shade level between DIN 9 and DIN 13.
Delay switch. The delay switch allows to select the reaction time of the filter when it changes from dark to
bright
4 - Cleaning
The cartridge and the front cover lens must be cleaned regularly using a soft cloth. No strong cleaning
agents, alcohol or abrasive cleaning agents may be used. Scratched or damaged lenses must be replaced.
5 - Inserting and removing a new protection lens:

o insert the new outer protection lens (4) the filter must be removed by unscrewing the two retaining screws
(8) from the inside of the helmet (1) . The old protection lens can then be removed and the new lens inserted
followed by the light seal cradle (6), the autodarkening cartridge, inner protection lens (5) and then the
minrel glass retaining frame (8) and finally replace the two retaining screws
6 - Removing / installing the autodarkening cartridge
1. Release retention frame as shown (8)
2. Carefully tilt out autodarkening cartridge with lenses (7).
Installation takes place in the reverse order.
