● Do not lock or hold the lower blade guard in the open
position.
2.10 Battery safety
● Do not try to disassemble the battery or to replace the
battery cells.
● Do not let jewelry or tools cause a short circuit of the
battery terminals. This can cause electrical shock and
burn injuries.
2.11 Safety instructions for operation
2.11.1 Vibration and noise safety
Plan the operation to spread the exposure to heavy
vibrations over a longer period of time.
To reduce noise and vibrations during operation, set a limit
to the operation time and use applicable personal protective
equipment.
Do these procedures to reduce the risks of exposure to
vibrations and noise:
● Only operate the product as given in this operation
manual.
● Make sure that the product is in good condition.
● Only use applicable accessories in good condition.
● Hold the handles tightly.
● Do maintenance and lubricate the product as given in
this operation manual.
2.11.2 Personal protective equipment
Always use approved personal protective equipment when
you operate the product:
● Hearing protection.
● Eye protection.
● Protective gloves.
2.12 Safety devices on the product
Do not use a product with defective safety devices. Do a
check of the safety devices regularly.
2.12.1 To do a check of the lower blade guard

Pull and release the blade guard lever and make sure
that the spring on the lower blade guard operates
correctly. Do not operate the product if the lower
blade guard does not immediately close around the
cutting blade.

Lift the lower blade guard with the blade guard lever.
Make sure that the lower blade guard can move freely
in all cutting depths and angles and does not touch
the cutting blade or other parts of the product.

Operation
3.1 To do before you operate the
product
● Make sure that the lower blade guard operates correctly.
● Make sure that the cutting blade is installed correctly and
that the blade screw is fully tightened.
● Examine the condition of the cutting blade. Replace the
cutting blade if it is blunt, twisted or has cracks or other
damages.
● Make sure that the installed cutting blade is applicable
for the workpiece material.
● Adjust to an applicable bevel angle and cutting depth for
the operation.
● Make sure that the workpiece is firmly attached with a
clamp, a vice or equivalent.
3.2 To adjust the bevel angle
The angle can be adjusted between 0° and 45°.

Release the lock knob for the bevel angle (A). (Figure
2)

Look at the bevel scale (B) and adjust the base plate
to the correct angle.

Tighten the lock knob for the bevel angle.

Examine the angle between the cutting blade and the
base plate to make sure that it is correct.
3.3 To adjust the cutting depth
The cutting depth is correct when the teeth of the blade are
3 mm below the bottom surface of the workpiece.
