Installation manual
Measuring capsule Minolist
The Minolist 2˝ flush-mounted meter system comprises robust flush-mounted
pieces with different pipe connection options for thread and solder installa-
tion, the measuring insert for cold and hot water and a rosette inserted on the
water meter cover. For installation depths from 48 mm to 93 mm, optimum is
66 mm. For smaller installation depths, a special rosette with 40 mm installa-
tion height is used. The flush-mounted part is supplied with a flush-mounted
cover. It must be removed when installing the measuring insert.
1. Installation of the flush-mounted part (FMP)
1.1. Unpack FMP.
1.2. FMPs are delivered with an inserted sealing ring with a screwed-in
cover (see Fig. 1). For FMPs with threaded connection, continue with
No. 1.3. For FMPs with soldered connection: Remove flush-mounting
support, cover and sealing ring Solder the connections and allow
them to cool down. Insert the L-sealing ring into the FMP below the
head thread in the groove provided and carefully screw the cover
tightly and install the flush-mounted cover (see Fig. 2).
1.3. Expertly install the FMP. Make sure that the pipe installation is fixed
with sound-insulated clamps, preferably at the optimum plastering
depth. The optimum plastering depth is marked on the flush-mounted
cover (centre of pipe under prefabricated wall). Depths less than 48
mm require a special rosette.
1.4. Carefully test installation to ensure there is no leakage.
2. Initial assembly of the measuring capsule
2.1. Carefully rinse the line.
2.2. Block and drain the line by closing the apartment or line's stop valve.
2.3. Open the FMP cover with a socket wrench (not assembly key as per
Number 4). Remove lid, flush-mounted cover and L-sealing ring.
2.4. Ensure it is actually a 2˝ connection interface. With the FMP opened,
the seat depth and thread size can be determined: Seat depth 14.5
mm, thread G2˝.
2.5. Remove the measuring capsule from the packaging.
2.6. Check whether the measuring capsule meter fits into the intended
connection interface: Labelling = IST.
2.7. Insert the enclosed new L-sealing ring into the groove provided. Only
the manufacturer's original seals are to be used.
2.8. Insert Minolist into the FMP. Using slight pressure briefly turning anti-
clockwise, find the start of the thread and then tighten the Minolist in
a clockwise direction using the assembly key.
2.9. Set line under pressure by opening the apartment or main stop valve.
Carefully check tightness and function.
2.10. If not already done, turn the register to the read position and seal the
meter.
3
2.11. Mark the connection interface with IST sticker.
2.12. Take the rosette out of the packaging and if required due to the large
insertion depth, insert one to three extension connections.
A special rosette must be ordered for installation depths less than 65
mm.
2.13. Push the rosette onto the register cap as far as it will go (see Fig. 3).
2.14. For wet room installations with an extension connection, a rosette
disk can also be inserted and this must be ordered separately.
3. Meter exchange
3.1. Block and drain the line by closing the apartment or line's stop valve.
3.2. Remove rosette.
3.3. Check whether the measuring capsule fits into the intended connec-
tion interface: Labelling = IST.
Ensure that it is actually a coax-connection (single pipe connector)
and a measuring insert with 4 tappets (see Fig. 4).
3.4. Using the assembly key, unscrew the measuring capsule from the FMP.
3.5. Remove the L-sealing ring from the FMP and if necessary clean dirt
away from the FMP, in particular of course on the L-sealing ring's seal-
Fig. 1
ing surface.
3.6. Install new Minolist, as described in No. 2.6 to 2.11. Carefully check
tightness and function.
3.7. Insert rosette. For Ista rosettes, use the MINOLIST support ring
(sap 100103 ). For Allmess rosettes, the adapter ring (sap 155431)
must be used.
4. Assembly key
To install and dismantle the measuring capsule, use either the assembly key
for Istameters or the Universal assembly key.
5. User safeguard
A user safeguard (adhesive label, seal etc.) must be used to detect whether
the measuring capsule has been removed from the connection interface or
to prevent an unauthorised removal.
