Informationen zum Vorbild
Zu Beginn der sechziger Jahre hatte die Lokomotiv-
fabrik Woroschilowgrad in der UDSSR damit begonnen,
eine 2000 PS Diesellokomotive zu entwickeln, die als
Einheitsmaschine für den mittelschweren Güterzug-
dienst vorgesehen war.
Die ersten Lokomotiven gingen im Jahre 1965 als Reihe
M 62 an die Ungarische Staatsbahn. Ab 1967 wurde sie
als V 200 an die DR geliefert.
Auf Grund der lauten Auspuffgeräusche des V-12-
Zylinder-Zweitakt-Dieselmotors kam es schnell zur
Nachrüstung mit Schalldämpfern und dem scherzhaf-
ten Beinamen „Taigatrommel".

Information about the Prototype
At the start of 1960s, the locomotive builder Woro-
schilowgrad in the USSR began to develop a 2,000
horsepower diesel locomotive that was planned as a
standard design unit for medium duty freight service.
The first locomotives went in 1965 to the Hungarian
State Railroad as the class M 62. Starting in 1967, they
were also delivered to East Germany as the V 200
Because of the loud exhaust sound from the V12
cylinder, two-cycle diesel motor, these units were
quickly retrofitted with noise dampeners and they also
quickly gained the nickname „Taigatrommel" (Taiga
Drum).
