Setting up the HEINE mini 3000
To setup the HEINE mini 3000
head (3) (exclusively of the mini 3000 product line). To insert fresh batteries, unscrew the end cap (5) of the
handle and insert 2 new batteries (alkaline cells, size LR6/AA) with the plus contact facing the handle head
(see picture).
To switch on the light source please slide the switch (4) down to position "1" . To switch off the light source slide the
switch (4) up to position "0" or clip it firmly over your coat pocket. The handle is then automatically switched off.
Performance Indicator: When turning on the device the brightness will increase softly to 100% and will then
adjust to the brightness corresponding to the actual charge condition of the battery.
If you realize a significant drop of brightness or a flashing of the lightning immediately after switching on the
device, please change the batteries.
Operation of the HEINE mini 3000
The HEINE mini 3000
®
(10, grey) or re-usable (9, black) tip is fitted. Push the tip onto the instrument so that the internal projection engages
in the slit (1). Twist to the right to lock.
The magnifying lens (2) magnifies ca. 3-fold and can be swiveled aside for instrumentation. To the HEINE mini
3000
LED F.O. Otoscope an insufflation bulb (7) can be fitted to the insufflation port (6). Therefore put the Insufflation
®
port connector (8) between insufflation port (6) and insufflation bulb (7).
The device may only be used to examine the ear when a tip is fitted!
Do not shine the light directly into the patient's eyes.
The device can be used with or without a tip for general illumination of e.g. the oral cavity or skin. But it is not
suitable for direct contact of sensitive or damaged skin!
Pressure should be applied with great care when doing pneumatic testing of the tympanic membrane using
the insufflation bulb.
Cleaning and disinfection
Instrument head:
The housing can be wiped clean outside with a damped cloth, inside with a cotton wool bud. For disinfection of
the outer surface we recommend wipe disinfection by using detergents, which are released for medical devices
made out of plastic.
Disinfection by spraying or immersion as well as sterilization is not allowed and will damage the instrument!
Re-usable SANALON S tips:
These can be cleaned, disinfected and sterilized or boiled by any conventional method. Autoclaving is permitted.
AllSpec-Tips:
AllSpec-Tips are for single use only.
Do not attempt to clean them as the tip may be damaged and could injure the patient.
Battery handle:
The handle can be cleaned with a damp cloth (e.g. alkaline or pH- neutral detergent). For disinfection of the outer
surface we recommend wipe disinfection by using detergents, which are released for medical devices made out
of plastic.
Disinfection by spraying or immersion as well as sterilization is not allowed and will damage the instrument!
Maintenance
The device does not require any regular maintenance.
