• If the appliance breaks down or malfun-
ctions, turn off the power supply main
switch (installed upline of the appliance)
and unplug the appliance.
• Clean the appliance following the instruc-
tions given in Chapter " INSTRUCTIONS
FOR CLEANING".
• Do not store flammable materials in close
proximity to the appliance. FIRE HAZARD.
• The appliance may be used by children no
younger than 8 years of age and by per-
sons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, as long as they are super-
vised or have been instructed concerning
safe use of the appliance, understanding
the hazards involved. Children must not
be allowed to play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and maintenance to be carried
out by the user must not be performed by
unsupervised children.
• Do not obstruct any air vents or drains pre-
sent on the appliance.
• Do not tamper with appliance components.
• The workplace must be kept clean and tidy
and free of any objects which might hinder
freedom of movement. Workplace lighting
must be adequate for the tasks performed.
Insufficient or excessive lighting may con-
stitute a safety hazard.
• Make sure that the workplace is well ven-
tilated and that the extractor systems are
working correctly, are in good condition
and comply with the statutory require-
ments.
• During use, the upper and lower surfaces
of the appliance become extremely hot, so
great care must be taken to avoid burns
caused by accidental contact.
• Do not move the appliance while it is still
hot.
• The use of protective gloves is recommen-
ded when working alongside high tempe-
rature zones.
• Grease and hot oil will easily ignite on a
hot hotplate! Foods with grease and oil
must only be prepared under careful su-
pervision.
• In the event of a fire, do not pour water
directly onto the appliance, but use the
specific safety devices available (extingui-
shers).
• The required cooking temperatures may
inevitably cause the covers, coatings etc.
to overheat. This is not a construction fault
but stainless steel is a thermal conductor
and for this reason care must be taken to
avoid burns.
• The appliance must not be used if the
glass of the upper section is cracked.
• If the surface is cracked, disconnect the
appliance from the power supply immedia-
tely and contact the technical assistance
center.
• Do not strike the glass with scrapers, pun-
ches, forks, ladles or other rigid items, as
they may cause irreparable damage.
• The appliance must not be used without
the grill and tray.
• The grill and tray must not be used as pre-
paration surfaces for cleaning vegetables,
tenderizing meat or other activities not
strictly linked to direct cooking without the
use of utensils.
REMINDERS FOR USE
Appliance with hot surfaces!
• The appliance is used for cooking and heating food. The ther-
mal part consists of infrared heating elements positioned on
the upper section of the appliance. As it is mobile, this part
allows the operator to adjust the heat intensity on food to be
cooked by moving the heat source nearer to or farther away
from food.
• In stand-by the power presence indicator is lit; press the ON/
OFF button to switch on the appliance. The appliance has
two operating modes: COOKING – HOLDING.
• In COOKING mode it can operate in three ways:
-only the central elements (-0-)
- only the side elements (0-0)
- all the elements on (000)
• The HOLDING mode is used to keep food that has just been
cooked warm; the appliance activates the heating elements
as per a set program. The function has seven selectable
power levels. The holding temperature may be affected by
external factors due to the nature of this appliance, which is
open on three sides.
