Figure 1 – 2
Choose an infusion site away from the waistline, bones, scar tis-
sue, belly button and recent infusion sites. Wash hands thoroughly
and clean the infusion site according to the instructions provided by
your healthcare professional. Prepare the infusion site by removing
excess hair. We recommend to wipe the site in a circular outward
motion, using a 70 % isopropyl alcohol pad, and let it air dry. Make
sure the infusion site is completely dry before proceeding. The use
of 70 % isopropyl alcohol supports the optimal adhesion of the
tape. The use of other alcohol pads may result in premature tape
failure and interruption of insulin delivery.
Figure 3 – 4
Attach the adapter of the infusion set straight onto the cartridge
compartment of the YpsoPump
gently down to pierce the septum of the insulin cartridge. Turn the
adapter in a clockwise direction until you feel it slide into lock posi-
tion. Check visually that the adapter is attached firmly and aligned
with the pump case. After connection, make sure air bubbles are
removed by priming the tubing assembly according to the priming
instructions of the YpsoPump
Figure 5 – 6
Remove tape backing and be careful not to touch adhesive. Care-
fully remove the cannula protector from the cannula.
Figure 7 – 8
Stabilize the infusion site and insert the YpsoPump
nula with an angle of 90°. For insertion of the cannula, you may
also use the Orbit
press the tape to your skin and run your fingers over the adhesive
for some seconds.
Figure 9 – 11
Hold tape against skin with two fingers of one hand. Gently squeeze
tabs and remove the introducer needle carefully with the other hand.
Dispose the introducer needle into a safe container unit immediately
after injection to avoid accidentally pricking.
You may use the blue needle cover provided to cover the intro-
ducer needle after removal (not for healthcare professionals).
