11. Inspection and maintenance
11.1 For your safety during a simple inspection
•
•
•
11.2 Recommended checks
•
•
Regular checks and preventive maintenance activities guarantee a safer operation over time.
With newly installed pumps, or after replacing mechanical parts, it is recommended that a visual inspection is
carried out after the irst week of operation.
The pump must usually be inspected after 2000 hours of operation, or at least once every year. Demanding
working conditions, or intermittent uses, make frequent checks necessary.
A normal check must be completed must be completed as follows:
•
Visually check that there are no iniltrations in the cable input.
•
In case of damaged or worn parts, these must be replaced by DRENO POMPE qualiied personnel only.
If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its technical support service,
or by qualiied personnel, in order to avoid any risks.
Check the level and the quality of the oil in the tank (the oil charge is adequate when, with the electric pump
positioned on its side, the level is 1 to 1.5 cm below the hole of the oil cap).
See chapter 12 for the exact quantity of oil in the tank.
11.3 Motor insulation check
Once every year, or in any case after 4000 hours of operation, the motor insulation must also be checked.
The measurement must be carried out at the end of the cable (disconnected from the panel) using a me-
gaohmmeter. The test voltage must comply with the applicable reference standard.
To carry out the test, the motor cable must be disconnected, carrying out the measurements of the winding
towards the mass, connecting all the ends of the winding.
The resistance of the winding toward the mass must exceed 5 MΩ. Otherwise, it will be necessary to comple-
te two measurements, one for the cable, and the other one for the motor.
If the cable insulation value is below 5 MΩ, it means that the cable itself is damaged.
If the insulation values of the motor are too low, it means that the winding is faulty.
12. Spare Part List
The spareparts list and related purchases, are available on-line at Dreno Part Selector though our web site
www.drenopompe.it, or contact us
Check that the electric power supply is disconnected, and that the pump cannot
restart, not even accidentally, before starting any work on the same.
To avoid biological contamination, ensure that the pump has been carefully washed
with water and non aggressive detergents that will not compromise the integrity of
the same.
The electric pump can only be disassembled by DRENO POMPE qualiied person-
nel, ensuring that the parts are handled using working gloves.
If detecting abnormal noise during the operation of the pump (e.g. buzzing noise),
call Dreno Pump qualiied technical support, refraining from using the pump until the
cause has been identiied. This problem could be due to a broken or worn bearing.
If detecting a temperature higher than normal during the operation of the pump, call
Dreno Pump qualiied technical support, refraining from using the pump until the
cause has been identiied. This problem could be due to a broken or worn bearing,
or the seizing of a seal.
