3. APPLICATIONS
This manual refers to Kappa drainage pumps, that can be used in murky water containing abrasive particles of sand and clay, shavings and other
potentially abrasive objects.
Do not use the pump in areas where there is a risk of fire or explosion or for pumping flammable liquids.
The pumps comply with the EU machinery directive, see data plate.
The manufacturer guarantees that a brand new, totally or partially submerged pump, under normal operating conditions, does not produce noise
exceeding 70db(A).
WARNING!
Do not use the pump if it is partially disassembled.
WARNING!
If a person comes into contact with the pump or the immediate area nearby (construction site or agricultural excavations), a differential switch on
the phases (GFI) must be used in addition to the earth conductor coming out of the pump.
In the case of pumping near jetties, beaches, banks or fountains, a minimum distance of 20 meters between the pump and any people in the water
must be kept.
The pump cannot be installed directly in swimming pools.
When used in communication with swimming pools, special regulations must be complied with.
4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Limitations
Immersion depth: 20m max.
Fluid temperature: 40°C max.
Motor. Three-phase asynchronous motor short-circuited for 50 Hz. IP68 protection.
Motor protection. Pumps with built-in protection are provided with protections that disconnect the voltage at high temperature. Alternatively, the
thermal protections can be connected to a protection device to be provided within the control panel.
Electrical cable: 20 m H07RNF or equivalent. In case of a longer cable, consider the voltage drop.
Materials used
The construction materials of the components have been chosen with particular care to obtain high reliability and durability even in the most de-
manding applications. The parts that make up the Kappa series electric pumps are in aluminium alloy. The hydraulic parts are rubber coated, the
impeller is made of very hard steel, the shell is in stainless steel.
For the K040 and K 075 models the components are in GG25 cast iron.
5. TECHNICAL DATA AND DIMENSIONS
Technical data and dimensions can be found at the end of this manual.
6. TRANSPORT
The pump can be transported and stored in a horizontal or vertical position.
Check that it is secured properly and cannot roll.
WARNING!
The pump must always stand on a solid surface so as not to tip over. This applies to transportation, testing and installation.
WARNING!
Always protect the end of the cable to prevent the access of moisture.
Otherwise the water may enter the cable entry compartment or the motor through the cable.
WARNING!
Always use the handle to lift the pump. Do not grip the cable or the hose. In case of prolonged storage, protect the pump from dirt and heat. After
prolonged storage, inspect the pump and turn the impeller manually before commissioning. Above all, check the seals and the electric cable with
its cable gland.
