Operating manual

Intended use

The EWM hedge trimmer is intended only for normal use in agricultural and
landscaping or similar work.
The thickness of the material to be cut must not exceed 30 mm.
Intended use includes the following requirements:
• Observance of and compliance with all notices in this manual
• Compliance with the inspection and maintenance intervals in this manual
Any other use that goes beyond or deviates from the intended use is deemed
improper use.
Improper use of the hedge trimmer can result in personal injury and material damage.
The manufacturer will assume no liability for damages resulting from improper use of
the hedge trimmer.

Unauthorized conversions and modifications are prohibited

Do not make any unauthorized conversions or modifications to the hedge trimmer.
Conversions or modifications are prohibited without the written permission of the
manufacturer and exclude liability for resulting damages.

Personnel qualification and training

• The hedge trimmer may be used, maintained and repaired only by persons who
are familiar with the system and have been instructed about the dangers.
The area of responsibility, competence and supervision of personnel must be

exactly defined by the operator.
• If the personnel do not have sufficient skills, they must be trained and instructed.
The operator must ensure that personnel have read and understood the contents
•
of this operating manual.
• Repairs that are not described in this operating manual may be carried out only by
authorized repair shops.

General safety information

The safety information provided in this operating manual, the applicable national
•
accident prevention regulations, and all internal work, operating and safety
regulations of the operator must be complied with.
• The relevant accident prevention regulations and other generally recognized
safety, occupational health and road traffic regulations must be complied with.
The safety information of the manufacturer of the carrier vehicle or implement
•
carrier must be followed.
Prior to each operation of the hedge trimmer it must be inspected for damaged,
•
missing and worn parts to ensure operational safety. Damage must be remedied
immediately before working with or continuing work with the hedge trimmer.
Safe operation of the hedge trimmer is ensured only if the knife is properly
•
mounted. Suitable tools must be used for assembly.
The safety devices must be checked regularly; damaged safety devices must be
•
replaced.
• Use only parts provided by the manufacturer or expressly approved by the
manufacturer. The manufacturer will assume no liability and provide no guarantee
whatsoever for damages resulting from the use of other than original parts.
