DANGER!
Dangerous situation with imminent
or threat of death of persons or bodily
injury if it is not avoided.
CAUTION!
Dangerous situation with threat of damage
to property if it is not avoided.
General remark
Wear a protective helmet
Wear safety shoes
Wear safety gloves
2. Intended use
• The PFEIFER Swivel PSH TSS/civil engineering serves
as a load lifting attachment between a load and the
correspondingly formed crane connection.
• The PFEIFER Swivel PSH TSS/civil engineering serves
as part of the hoisting or adjusting rope and the
correspondingly formed crane connection.
DANGER!
Any use of the PFEIFER Swivel PSH TSS/
civil engineering other than that described
here is forbidden!
DANGER!
Ropes that are not rotationfree may not
be used with the PFEIFER Swivel PSH
TSS/civil engineering or similar rotatable
fixed points. Disregard can lead to consi
derable rope damage, rope tear and the
release of the load.
Ropes that are not rotationfree tend to untwist under
load, which leads to the loosening of the load and to
rope failure. Therefore, these rope structures may not
be used with swivels as part of the hoisting or adjusting
rope.
DANGER!
Rotationresistant ropes may only be
used with the PFEIFER Swivel PSH TSS/civil
engineering or similar rotatable fixed points
after approval by the device manufacturer
and PFEIFER or the rope manufacturer.
Rotationresistant ropes are designed in such a way
that they exhibit a reduced torque under load, but tend
to untwist under load.
• nonrotationfree wire rope: 6–10 external strands
• rotationresistant wire rope: 11–14 external strands
or 3–4 external strands
Ropes that may be used with a swivel:
• extremely rotationresistant wire rope:
15 or more external strands
3. Legal and normative
principles and regulations
These standards/regulations were referred to during
the manufacture of the product:
• EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
• EN 131551: Cranes, nonfixed load lifting
attachments
• The user must comply with the regulations for
use applying to the respective country of use.
4. Safety instructions
CAUTION!
Dangerous situation with threat of damage
to property if it is not avoided.
