The synchronisation of the weather station with the DCF signal takes place every hour. Only
one single successful reception attempt a day keeps the deviation of the internal clock below
one second.
If there still is no current time shown in the weather station's display after 10 minutes, change
the location of the weather station.
Then start a new search for the DCF signal; see section "Manual search for DCF signal".
c) Setup and Installation
For the spacing between the outdoor sensor and the weather station, follow the
section "Range" further down in these operating instructions.
• Mount the outdoor sensor outdoors in the shade all day long. Otherwise, the temperature
reading will be useless because of the solar radiation.
The same applies if the sensor is exposed to rain or snow for a relatively long period of time
(the temperature sensor would not measure the air temperature any longer in this case).
Never dip the outdoor sensor in or under water; this will destroy it!
The bracket (19) can be used as a bracket for wall or ceiling mounting, and as a base. De-
pending on the desired installation location, it can be attached to the top, bottom and also the
rear of the outdoor sensor.
Before screwing in a screw or hook for wall mounting or drilling a hole for a dowel, you should
check if faultless reception of radio data from the outdoor sensor by the weather station is
possible at the mounting location.
• The base of the weather station helps its installation on a suitable plane surface. Protect valu-
able furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat to prevent scratches.
An opening (14) on the back of the weather station allows mounting on a nail, screw or hook
on the wall (pull the base downwards before mounting).
Manual search for DCF signal
• Press and hold the " " (8) button (approx. 3 seconds) until the icon for DCF reception (3)
disappears. Then release the button. DCF reception is now switched off.
• To restart the search for the DCF signal, press and hold the " " (8) button again (about 3
seconds) until the icon for DCF reception (3) starts to fl ash. The weather station now per-
forms a new reception attempt.
• The recognition and interpretation of the DCF signal can take 5 - 10 minutes. Do not move
the weather station during that time. Do not use any buttons.
• If no DCF signal is detected, place the weather station, e.g. at a window and restart the
search. Change the batteries of the weather station, if necessary.
Should DCF reception not be possible at the installation location (e.g. in a cellar), then set the
date and time manually.
Manual Search for Outdoor Sensors
• Press and hold the " " (7) button (approx. 3 seconds) until the icon for sensor reception (2)
fl ashes.
• The search for the outdoor sensor takes about 2 minutes. Do not move the weather station
and the outdoor sensor during that time. Do not press any buttons on the weather station.
• If the signal from the outdoor sensor was not detected, dashes appear on outdoor tem-
perature display. Check the batteries in the outdoor sensor and replace them, if necessary.
Reduce the spacing between the outside sensor and the weather station by trial and error or
change the installation location.
Manually Setting the Language for the Display of the Weekday,
Date, 12h/24h-Mode and Time
If you want to set the date and/or time manually, you should turn off DCF reception
beforehand. To do this, press and hold the " " (8) button (approx. 3 seconds) until
the icon for DCF reception (3) disappears.
Otherwise, the weather station performs an automatic reception attempt soon after
every hour. This not only leads to the overwriting of the data manually set but also
decreases the battery life.
However, leave the DCF reception on if you want to only change the language for
the display of the weekday or the 12h/24h-mode.
• To start the settings mode, press and hold the "mode" (9) button (for about 3 seconds) until
