11.8 Adjusting the packaging module
The following series of photos shows the order in which the packaging module has to be adjusted.
The individual drives are first of all checked for correct functioning:
Do all of the pneumatic cylinders travel from end position to end position?
Do the electric proximity sensors work?
Is throttling of the individual cylinders set up such that a smooth sequence is assured?

The clamping cylinder is clamped or released by
turning the magazine switch.
In the photo, the magazine switch is in the
"Clamping cylinder released" position so that
boxes can be loaded to the magazine.
The pressure regulating valve for the clamping
cylinder can be seen here. Pressure must be set
to no more than 150 kPa (1.5 bar) with this valve.
The clamping cylinder applies excessive loads to
the feed cylinder at higher pressure levels and
the boxes are no longer pushed out correctly.
Fill the magazine with boxes. The boxes must be
inserted as shown in the photo. Make sure that
all boxes are inserted into the magazine in the
correct position in a positive locking manner.
Turn the magazine switch in order to activate the
clamping cylinder. Check clamping pressure.
Advance the feed cylinder with the help of manual
override, in order to separate a box and open it
open.
