3.3.2 Motor
The three phase asynchronous motor consists of an en-
gine block and the engine shaft with the impeller assem-
bly. The circuit for the power supply is designed for the
maximal mechanical performance according to the char-
acteristics or the nameplate of the pump. The cable in-
lets as well as the circuit are sealed resistant to jet water
with respect to the pumped medium. The shaft bearing
is carried out by means of robust, maintenance-free and
permanently lubricated antifriction bearings.

3.3.3. Monitoring devices
Temperature sensor
Pump types H 500 and H 700 with a power consumption
of 5.5 kW are equipped with a temperature sensor set in
the motor windings. In the standard version of (1Ph) sin-
gle phase motors, the temperature sensors are connect-
ed internally in the motor so that no special connection is
necessary. After cooling, the motor will restart automati-
cally. For all standard versions of three phase motors, the
connections of the temperature sensor (if installed) are
guided over the motor connecting cable to the outside
and are to be connected via the T1 and T3 conductor cable
ends of the connecting cable in the control cabinet in such
a way that the motor automatically restarts after cooling.
The triggering temperature of the sensors for standard
version motors is 130°C. The temperature sensor set
must be connected in the switchgear so that it switches
off in the event of overheating.
Rotational direction check
No check is required for single phase motors, since these
always run in the correct direction of rotation. Three phase
motors have the correct direction of rotation if connected
to a clockwise rotating field (U, V, W -> L1, L2, L3). HOMA
switchgears check the circuit for a clockwise rotating
field. If there is no clockwise rotating field, the red LED
flashes. Two phases have to be interchanged at the input
of the switchgear. For smaller pumps, the check can be
carried out by observation of the start-jerk. For this, place
the pump vertically onto the floor, slightly onto the edge
and switch on for a short time. When seen from above,
the pump rebounds slightly anticlockwise in correct direc-
tion of rotation. The direction of rotation is correct if the
pump moves anticlockwise, since the motor starts clock-
wise when seen from above.
ATTENTION
The direction of rotation
is correct if the
impeller/propeller rotates
in a clockwise manner
when viewing down from
top of the placed unit
Furthermore it is possible to check the direction of ro-
tation with a 'motor and phase rotation indicator'. This
measuring device is held towards the engine block of the
running pump from externally and shows the direction of
rotation by means of LED.

Motor cooling
Sufficient motor cooling is also ensured in snore operation
due to the water jacket with pressure connection on top.
3.3.4. Pump Casing
The pump casing is available with different pressure dis-
charges, depending on the version and engine variation.
This creates an optimal connection to the various types
of pipework.

H 500 (B)/ 5.5 D to 7.5 D
H 500 B/ 10 D and 25 D
H 500 B/ 10 HD
H 700 (B)/ 2.5 D to 3.5 D
H700 B/7.5 D to 10 D
3.3.5. Impeller
The impeller is fixed on the engine shaft, which powers
it. The impeller is an open multi-blade impeller with ad-
justable gap width between the impeller and the housing.
Thus an operational loss of power is avoided.
The free flow depends on the pump type:
H 500 (B) (G) / 1.8 W and 2.5 D
H 500 (B) (G) / 3.5 D and 5.5 D
H 500 (B) / 7.5 D and 10 (H) D
H 500 (B) / 25 D
H 700 (B) all models
ATTENTION
The start reaction is
anti clockwise
Warning - rotating impeller! Do not touch the rotating
impeller or do not reach into the pump chamber
through the pressure socket! Never put your hands
into the pump chamber or touch the rotating parts in
operating mode. Switch the machine off and let the
rotating parts come to gridlock before carrying out
maintenance work or repair work!
