Intended use
The product is used as a surveillance camera with recording function and motion detection. The
integrated rechargeable Li-Po battery (6500 mAh) ensures for a long standby operation. The
product can be positioned discreetly in a bookshelf.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in
bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

Description of symbols

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room
into a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow
the device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may
take several hours.
• The rechargeable battery is permanently built into the product and cannot be
replaced.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable
battery might cause an explosion or a fire! Unlike conventional batteries/
rechargeable batteries (e.g. AA or AAA type), the casing of the LiPo rechargeable
battery does not consist of a thin sheet but rather a sensitive plastic film only.
• Never short-circuit the contacts of the rechargeable battery. Do not throw the
rechargeable battery or the product into fire. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even if you are not using the product.
Due to the rechargeable battery technology being used, you do not need to
discharge the rechargeable battery first.
• Never charge the rechargeable battery of the product unattended.
• When charging, place the product on a surface that is not heat-sensitive. It is
normal that a certain amount of heat is generated during charging.
• Always leave the book camera open when connected to the USB cable to prevent
damage to the USB plug and USB port.
• Do not surveil any people, without notifying them about it first. Warning stickers
are enclosed with the product for this purpose. Observe the relevant laws of your
country.
• Do not place sources of open fire, such as candles, on or next to the device.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the
device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.

Motion detector function
The integrated motion detection detection software triggers recording when movement in the
camera image is detected.
Charging the rechargeable battery
The rechargeable battery is located at the left and right side of the book camera.
Therefore make sure, that the sides of the book are never damaged and that the
book camera is not positioned or stored near sources of heat.
Never close the book camera when connected to the USB cable. Closing the book
may destroy the USB plug and USB port. Always open to charge.
• Charge the internal rechargeable battery with the USB cable before setting into operation.
• The unit must be switched off, before the rechargeable battery is charged.
• Connect the Micro-USB plug with the Micro-USB socket (5).
• Connect the USB-A plug of the USB cable with a USB power source, such as e.g. a USB
power supply unit. Charging starts once the USB power source supplies current. The yellow
LED indicator light (6) lights up, as long as the rechargeable battery is being charged. As
soon as the LED indicator light goes out, the rechargeable battery is fully charged.
It is recommended to use a USB power adapter with a charging current of at least
1 A. Since the total rechargeable battery capacity is 6500 mAh, charging can take up
to 20 hours.
• If the rechargeable battery is completely discharged, the LED indicator lights (6) flash blue
and red for approx. 10 seconds. After that, the last file recorded is stored and the book
camera switches off automatically. Then charge the rechargeable battery immediately.
• Although the capacity of the rechargeable battery is very high, it is recommended to recharge
it after approx. 6 months. Avoid allowing the rechargeable battery to discharge completely.
