Installation / Machine Specific Safety Instructions
The values specified in the pump data sheet (see information in Chapter 7) refer to the mechanical
rigidity of the pump.
It therefore lies in the responsibility of the operating party to carry out appropriate tests with the used
pump media to determine the allowed operating values and to ensure that neither the media them
selves nor the medua-specific operating conditions may pose any risk to persons or equipment.
Pumped, heating and sealing media may be hazardous to health.
Wear appropriate protective clothing.
The ignition temperature of the pumped medium must lie at least 50°C above the operating temperat
ure of the pump.
It must be ensured that inflammable media may not drip onto areas where an ignition may occur. If
necessary, place a protective pan below the pump set. This pan must continuously be monitored for
leaking liquid.
The boiling temperature of the sealing liquid must lie at least 20°C above the set operating temperat
ure of the pump.
Be careful when filling in and draining hot materials hazardous to health in or from the sealing cham
ber.
Due to the function principle of the pump, pressures may be generated at the inlet and outlet of the
pump which may damage the pump or installation or pose a risk to persons. For this reason, it is com
pulsory to monitor the pressures at the inlet and outlet without fail. The allowed pressures are spe
cified in the pump data sheet (see information in Chapter 7).
The improper operation or incorrect handling of the pump may cause damage to pump components or
destroy them. This may cause the drive shaft to be pushed out of the pump as long as the pump is
pressurized. Therefore, work at the pump or in the pump area may only be executed after the pump
has been unpressurized.
The shaft between gear motor and pump may be removed only when the pump is unpressurized.
In case of Cardan shafts with a lockable displacement in length, the lock nut must always be firmly
tightened as long as the pump is pressurized.
Protective covers may only be removed with the pump depressurized.
D
Danger!
Risk of burns from spurting hot liquids.
Wear protective clothing, especially a face screen.
Attach pressure monitoring facilities to the heating / cooling lines of pumps with liquid heating / cool
ing.
Pay attention to the allowed operating pressure and max. operating temperature of liquid heating and
cooling systems. The values are engraved in the heating/cooling jacket.
When retightening the stuffing box with the pump shaft rotating, tight-fitting working clothes must be
worn without fail. All rotating drive parts must be protected against any contact (e.g. by means of pro
tective hoods).
Observe the position and diameter of the inlets and outlets according to the pump drawing (see sec
tion 2.1).
Adjust external control, external converter or manual control unit of the internal converter in a way that
the pump drive does not start-up automatically when activating the device,
