PROGRAMMING AD CLICHÉS *
Up to eight different ad clichés can be sto-
red in the Mailmax using a special Ad
Cliché Loading Box (see section 5.8.2). To
program cliché pictures in a loading box,
please contact your local FRAMA sales or-
ganisation.
Cliché pictures can be copied from a loa-
ding box to a franking system as follows:
• Switch off the franking system using
mains switch (3).
• Connect the loading box to the 25-pin in-
terface (8).
• Switch on the franking system.

→ The copy procedure runs («Test Box» _
«Copy Box»).
→ The start mask for the account using
number entry is displayed.
• Switch off the franking system using
mains switch (3).
• Remove the loading box.
Important: If more than eight ad clichés
are required, then two loading boxes (e.g.

wever, only the clichés of one box can be
stored in the franking system at a time
(each box overwrites the previous cliché
memory).

MAINTENANCE

Changing the ink cassette
When the ink cassette runs out of ink, this
operational state is indicated on the touch-
screen by «Ink empty – change cassette«
together with an alternating bright/dark
screen background. A repetitive, short au-
dible signal also indicates this condition.
Change the cassette as follows:
Important: Do not switch off the fran-
king system when changing the ink
cassette!
• Confirm the message by tapping the
touch-screen.
→ Display «New cassette inserted?».
• Press the door latch (15) up and open the
door flap (16) downwards.
• Pull out the ink cassette (17) by its handle
(18) as illustrated.
• Carefully insert a new ink cassette until it
engages.
• Close the door flap (16) upwards; the do-
or latch (15) engages automatically.
• Press the «YES» key to confirm that a
new cassette has been inserted.

into the print head, then un-parks the

print head and readies it for printing
(approx. 30 sec.).
→ Display «Please make a test print».
• Frank an empty envelope / card.
→ Display «Test print OK?».
• If the print image shows no pixel errors
(see illustration in section 5.9.9), press
the «YES» key.

press the «NO» key.

ning sequence.
→ System requests a second test print.
Important: Mailmax franking systems use
ink. For this reason, the following instruc-
tions must be observed:
• Dispose of empty cassettes according
to the statutory waste disposal regu-
lations in your country, and the de-
tails printed on the instruction leaflet
enclosed with every cassette. Cauti-
