CAUTION

Do not open, take apart, modify or refit the batteries.
Do not insert foreign objects into the batteries.
Do not allow the batteries to be dropped, crushed, bent,
misshapen, pierced or crushed.
Do not expose the batteries to excessive heat or place
them in a microwave oven. If the batteries are once
exposed to high temperatures, the batteries must be
replaced immediately.
If a battery leaks, the fluid must not be allowed to come
into contact with the skin or eyes. If the fluid has already
come into contact with the skin or the eyes, rinse the
affected area with large quantities of water, seek medical
assistance immediately.
Never short-circuit the batteries.
Improper handling of batteries can cause fire, explosions
or other hazards.
Replace the batteries as follows:
1. Switch off the communication unit.
2. Loosen the screw (Allen key 2 mm) on the battery cover.
3. Open the battery cover.
4. Remove the old batteries.
5. Insert new batteries as shown in the graphic on the battery
compartment.
CAUTION

Ensure that the battery polarity is correct. Inserting the
batteries incorrectly will cause irreparable damage to the
communication unit.
6. Check that the battery cover seal is clean and undamaged and
fitted correctly (see page 5, fig. F). Replace the battery cover seal
if necessary.

7. Close the battery cover. Slightly lubricate the seal with silicone
grease if necessary.
8. Slightly press down the battery cover so that it fits flush to the casing,
and tighten the screw (torque: max. 0.22 lbf ft / 0.3 Nm, see page 5,
fig. G).
9. Dispose of used batteries in accordance with applicable regulations.
5.3.2
Replacing the earphone

In order to avoid premature wear, only remove the earphone
if it is defective.
1. Loosen the screw using a Torx screwdriver (T6).
2. Remove the old earphone from the communication unit.
3. Place the earphone straight onto the guide on the communication
unit (see page 7, fig. O).
Take care that the pins are not bent.
4. Tighten the screw (fastening torque: 0.22 lbf ft / 0.3 Nm).

Replacing the fastening eye
1. Loosen the screw using a Torx screwdriver (T10).
2. Remove the old fastening eye from the communication unit.
3. Place the new fastening eye on the communication unit (see
page 7, fig. P).
4. Tighten the screw (fastening torque: 0.22 lbf ft / 0.3 Nm).

Dismantling the communication unit from the full facepiece
1. Carefully loosen the fastening eyes from the visor frame without
using any tool.
2. Detach the communication unit from the connector.
3. Fit the protective cap onto the full facepiece.
