Building instructions
The aileron linkage
1.
Attach the ailerons to the wings using adhesive tape: first along the top of the hinge line, then
along the underside. Check that the ailerons move freely up and down.
2.
Drill holes in the ailerons for the horns. Shorten the aileron horns as shown and glue them in the
holes. Remove the covering film at the joint positions.
3.
Remove the covering film over the aileron servo opening and screw the aileron servo in place.
4.
Make up the aileron pushrods from 0.8 mm Ø steel wire. Prepare the servo output lever as
shown, and connect the pushrods to the lever and the aileron horns.
5.
Set the aileron servo to centre from the transmitter. Place the output lever on the servo, and
screw it in place.
The main undercarriage
6.
Prepare the main undercarriage components prior to assembly. Push an aluminium spacer
sleeve into each wheel.
7.
Fit the wheel spats, the main wheels and the collets on the main undercarriage legs. Secure the
collets by tightening the M3 grubscrews, and glue the spats in place. Use UHU plus acrylit for
this.
8.
Glue the main undercarriage unit in the wing together with the plywood support.
9.
Round off the front end of the 4 Ø x 30 mm hardwood dowel, and glue it in the wing as shown.
The tail panels
10. Attach the elevator to the tailplane, and the rudder to the fin, using the method described for the
ailerons.
11. Glue the elevator and rudder horn to the control surfaces.
12. Form a double bend (Z-bend) in one end of the rudder and elevator pushrods (0.8 mm Ø steel
wire), and slip them into the snake outers from the tail end.
13. Connect the pushrods to the rudder and elevator horns, and offer up the tail panels as shown;
check that they fit correctly.
14. Glue the M4 captive nut in the cross-piece in the fuselage, and screw the wing to the fuselage.
15. Now glue the tail panels to the fuselage, checking that they are exactly vertical / horizontal when
viewed from the front of the fuselage. Measure off the exact position of the tailplane as shown in
the photo.
16. Fix the tailplane and fin in place using modelling pins, and leave the glued joints to set hard.
