6. TROUBLESHOOTING

WARNING!
– Many troubleshooting procedures present hazards which can result in severe personal injury or
death. Only trained and experienced service personnel with knowledge of fuels, electricity, and
machinery hazards should perform service procedures. Review Safety Precautions.
WARNING!
– A hot generator can cause severe burns. Always allow the generator set to cool before perfor-
ming any maintenance service.
If the engine doesn't start:
- Make sure there is no spilled fuel around the spark plug.
­ If the engine still doesn't start, have the generator repaired by a licensed repair person.
Not enough fuel
Start switch and fuel valve not ON
Not enough lubricating oil
No fuel in the carburetor
Spark plug not working

Problem Recommended Action
Add fuel
Turn them to the ON position
Add more oil
Start a few times to ensure fuel enters the carburetor
Replace spark plug
Send generator to authorized dealer
