Spiropacker Roller ( g.41)
Comprises a spiral bar wrapped around a central shaft.
It is particularly suitable for light, sandy soils and leaves a fair
amount of clods on the surface, settling the ground at depth and
forming the most suitable seed bed for the seed drill in certain
situations.
Dimensions: D = 500.
Cage Roller ( g.42)
Used for soil of medium texture that is not too damp.
Allows the tilling depth to be controlled, levels the tilled soil, re nes
the seed bed,
achieving an optimum ground preparation and making it even
more ef cacious.
D = 370/6; D = 450/8.
To till the ground in a more super cial way and to obtain ner clods,
it is advisable to use roller 450/8T, since it has more tubes.
Spiked Roller ( g.43)
This consists of a cylinder equipped with a set of long teeth made
of shaped rods, 4 of which are installed per work section, with a
pitch of about 250 mm.
It is used for all types and in all soil conditions.
It does not pack down the soil, but leaves it aerated and levelled.
It is mainly used for preparing soil that has already been ploughed
at depth.
Dimensions: D = 500.
Paddy eld roller ( g.44)
Formed by a cylinder with a set of teeth made of shaped rod, 4
of which are positioned per work section with a pitch of approx.
250 mm.
This roller is almost always used in paddy elds alone.
Dimensions: D = 500.
Tyred Roller ( g.45)
Used in combination with a seed drill to pack down the soil in strips
in which the seeds will then be planted.
Works without slipping on loose soil and is ideal for soft and sandy
soil.
Dimensions: D = 500; D = 600.
Flanged Roller ( g.46)
Used in damp and/or clayey soils for preparing the seed bed.
The alternate bend arrangement of the outer anges allows the
roller to work the soil without slipping and achieves a combined
action that is particularly ef cacious when breaking up clods and
levelling the soil.
