Engine warm-up
Starting a warm engine

Engine operation

Once the engine starts, allow it to warm up for 2 to 3 minutes
at idling (i.e. low speed).

Warming the engine helps to lubricate its internal workings
more smoothly. Allow the engine to warm up fully, especially
when it is cold.

Never run the engine without the blower pipes fitted.
The starting procedure is the same as Cold Start except DO
NOT close the choke.
1. Ignition Switch
Move ignition switch to "I" (START) position.
2. Throttle Position Lever
Move throttle position lever to idle position(
3. Purge Bulb
Pump purge bulb until fuel is visible and flows freely in the
clear fuel tank return line.
4. Recoil Starter
Place the blower on a flat, clear area. Hold the blower firmly
with left hand and pull out the starter grip gently at first, and
rapidly pull recoil starter handle/rope until engine fires. If en-
gine does not start after 5 pulls, use cold start procedures.
1. Throttle Position Lever
Release throttle trigger. Move throttle position lever forward to
idle position and allow engine to return to idle before shutting
off engine.
2. Move ignition switch to "O" (STOP) position.
If engine does not stop when ignition switch is moved to
STOP position, close choke -
Have your shindaiwa dealer repair ignition switch before
using blower again.
