1.71 TROUBLESHOOTING
The spectrophotometer doesn't switch on
Cause
– The power cable is not connected
Measurement range undercut or exceeded
Cause
– Method not suitable.
Not stable results
Cause
- The cover of cuvette compartment is opened
- The halogen lamp arrives at its end life
Incorrect measured values
Cause
- Cuvette dirty
- Wrong dilution
- The selected method is not appropriated
- Erroneous zero measurement
– Erroneous blank value
Connected printer does not print
Cause
- Printer not suitable
Data transmission to USB memory device does not work
Cause
-Connected USB memory device was not
recognized
– The USB memory device has been formatted to a
file system which is not supported, e. g. (NTFS)
Incorrect measured values
Cause
- Cuvette dirty
- Wrong dilution
- The selected method is not appropriated
- Erroneous zero measurement
– Erroneous blank value

– Connect correctly the power cable
Remedy
- Select another method which suitable measuring range.
- Dilute the sample.
Remedy
- Close the cover of the cuvette compartment
- Change the halogen lamp

- Clean the cuvette
- Make a dilution again

- Perform the zero again
– Measure the blank again
Remedy
- Connect a printer that can interpret the printer control
language PCL-3
Remedy
- Use other USB memory device
– Format the USB memory device to the FAT 32 file
system
