Prior to Using for the First Time
Before frothing milk for the first time you should steam through about a quarter of a tank full of
water in order to clean the heating system. Proceed exactly as described in the following section
"Frothing Milk" but without putting milk in the milk container. Place as large a receptacle as
possible in the middle of the drip grid and under the milk discharge outlet of the frothed milk spout
(Figure 1/D,J).
Preparation
Warning: only fill the water tank with cold, clear water. Do not use mineral water, distilled water,
milk or other liquids!
Raise the water tank lid (F).
Remove the water tank (G) by the lid and fill with cold, clear water (Figure 1).
Replace the water tank with its lid and push down as for as it will go.
Use
You can use the milk frothing machine to make cappuccino, café au lait and cocoa or simply to
heat up and froth milk (for example as a drink with honey when suffering from a cold).
Assembling and attaching the frothed milk spout (Figs. 1 and 10)
Important: all parts of the frothed milk spout (Figure 2) must be firmly connected to avoid
additional air or milk being sucked in.
Insert the knob for regulating the froth (Figure 2/Q) into the control valve (Figure 2/R) and push
firmly into place.
Insert the control valve (Figure 2/R) into the connector (Figure 2/Q), and connect the milk
discharge outlet (Figure 2/P) to the connector.
Firmly push the complete frothed milk spout onto the steam nozzle (Figure 2/N) until the upper
red seal ring (Figure 7/"arrow") is no longer visible and the steam button (Figure 1/B) can be
pushed down fully.
Join the milk container with lid to the control valve (Figure 1/K,L).
