15 | FAQ

In this chapter we answer common questions.
What do I need for first registration at the vehicle registration office?
Generally all the necessary documents and forms are included. You require the COC papers, invoice
from the purchase of the trailer, the confirmation letter indicating that the trailer has never been
registered, an electronic insurance certificate from the insurance company with whom the trailer is to
be insured.
Where do I find the VIN (vehicle identification number)?
The VIN (vehicle identification number) is a 17-digit number which is found on the trailer's vehicle
identification plate. The vehicle identification plate is fitted directly behind the towing coupling on the
left-hand side of the vehicle.
Is it possible to retrofit the trailer with a brake?
No, that is not possible due to the design.
How do I obtain an approval for 100 km/h?
There are different options for obtaining an approval for 100 km/h. The trailer essentially meets
all the requirements which have to be met. One option is to carry out registration subsequently by
correcting the vehicle papers for the trailer after completing normal registration. However, to do
so, an officially recognised technical appraiser, inspector of inspection engineer from an officially
recognised supervisory body must fill out a form after presentation of the trailer (subject to costs).
The form then has to be presented at the vehicle registration office to have the changes entered in
the vehicle papers (also subject to costs). Moreover, a sealed 100 km/h speed limit sticker has to be
purchased from the vehicle registration office and attached to the rear of the trailer.
If you already have a trailer with which the FOR-ONE Trailer can be taken to a supervisory body, the
form can be issued without prior registration and an approval for 100 km/h can be obtained from the
vehicle registration office. That way, you save making two trips to the vehicle registration office.
