least 5 turns around the feeder 25 fig. 14). Thread through the load cell 26 fig. 14, then
through yarn guide 27 fig. 14.
To increase tension, use the control unit 28 fig. 14, referring to the relative manual. All
heads may be calibrated simultaneously from the control unit on board the machine 29
fig.12, referring to the relative manual.
b) BR-AP-S yarn braking.
To achieve tighter or looser packages, adjust the yarn brake 20 fig.13 as described in
paragraph "a". Bear in mind that the further the bar 20 fig,13 is from deflection 21 fig.13,
the more intense the braking effect.
A similar effect is also achieved by increasing the winding speed.
To increase the tension even further with the bar at the furthest position, increase the
winding speed and/or increase the pressure of the yarn brake 19 fig.13.
b ii) BR-AP yarn braking.
Set the required weighting value with the control unit 28 fig. 14, see relative manual.
Increasing the weighting value increases the tension of the yarn.
A similar effect is also achieved by increasing the winding speed.
c) BR-AP-S slub catching.
The slub catcher 22 fig.13 is adjusted by loosening the screws 29 fig.13 and setting it
at the desired distance from the bar 21 fig.13. Use a feeler gauge to ensure the correct
spacing.
After adjusting, tighten the screws 29 fig.13. Do not tighten excessively, as this may dam-
age the lock rings.
c ii) BR-AP slub catching.
To use the slub catcher, thread the yarn through yarn guide 17 fig. 14, yarn guide 18 fig.
14, the yarn brake 19 fig. 14, the slub catcher 30 fig. 14, behind the pin 31 fig. 14 and then
continue as described in paragraph a ii).
To adjust the slub catcher, 30 fig. 14 turn the numbered dial 32 fig. 14 to create a suitably
sized slit for the yarn count.
d) gas sprung counterweight.
To adjust the pressure of the arm on the roller, loosen the knob 32 fig. 10 of the gas spring
33 fig. 10 and move it into one of the free slots. Bear in mind that the close the knob is
to the roller, the greater the pressure exerted by the arm.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The yarn breaks
Speed too fast for yarn count.
- Reduce the speed
Excessive yarn braking.
- Reduce the yarn brake pressure, 19 and 20 fig.13-14, or reduce the weighting value
set for the tensioner. Yarn threaded incorrectly.
