Thank you for selecting the M 88 dynamic microphone. Please
take some time to read carefully through this product information
before setting up the equipment.

Applications

The M 88 has been developed for vocals, speech and miking
instruments. It can be used as handheld microphone or stand-
mounted.
Connection
The M 88 is equipped with a 3-pin XLR plug. You can connect it
to any microphone input. For available cables refer to the section
"Optional Accessories".

Setting up and Use

The M 88 features a hypercardioid polar pattern and a high-gain-
before feedback. In order to achieve maximum gain-before-feed-
back, the monitor box should be at an angle of approx. 120° to
the longitudinal axis of the microphone.
In order to avoid pop noise hold the microphone a little below
from the mouth at a slight angle.
For miking a bass drum use the PS 88 popscreen.
Supply of the M 88 includes the MKV 8 microphone clamp for
stands with 3/8" thread. For stands with 5/8" thread unscrew the
3/8"-thread insertion piece.
Maintenance
Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning the M 88 microphone. If
necessary, you can use a gentle cleansing agent (such as washing-up
liquid). Make sure not to allow any water to enter the transducer
element and never use any solvent cleansers.
Service
Servicing must be carried out by qualified service personnel
only. Dismantling the microphone yourself will render the guarantee
null and void.
