Possible Cause
1. New burner may have residual
manufacturing oils
2. Spider webs or insect nest in venturi
3. Food residue, grease, etc.
4. Poor alignment of valve to burner
venturi
1. High or gusting winds
2. Low on LP gas
3. Excess flow valve tripped; safety
device may have been activated
1. Grease buildup
2. Excess fat in meat
3. Excessive cooking temperature
1. Grease trapped by food buildup
around burner system
1. Burner and/or burner tubes are
blocked
1. The lid is stainless steel, not painted
2. The lid is coated/painted
Prevention/Cure
1. Burn grill for 15 minutes on
the lid closed
2. Clean ventur
3. Clean burner
4. Ensure burner venturi is properly engaged
with valve
1. Do not use grill in high winds
2. Replace LP gas tank
3. Refer to "Sudden drop in gas flow or
reduced flame height"
1. Remove and clean all grill parts per
"Cleaning and Care" instructions in the
owner's manual
2. Trim fat from meat before grilling
3. Adjust (lower) cooking temperature
