4.4- Workpiece holder
- Assemble the holder (9) to the bench grinder with the supplied hardware.
- Adjust the holder (9) so that it does not come into contact with the rotating wheel (leave a space
of approximately 2 mm between the wheel and the edge of the holder).
4.5- Sparks protector
- Make sure that tool is unplugged.
Assemble the Sparks protector (2) the cover (3) with the supplied hardware.
- Adjust the Sparks protector so that it does not come into contact with the rotating wheel (leave a
space of approximately 2 mm between the wheel and the edge of the sparks protector.).
NEVER work with the sparks protector disassembled, lifted up or not assembled properly.
4.6- Fitting or replacing a wheel
CAUTION! Tool MUST be unplugged before performing this operation.
- Remove the protective cover (3) by loosening the screws.
- Note: for the wet grinding wheel, be sure to drain the water basin.
- Loosen the lock nut of the flange.
- Remove the flange and the grinding wheel.
- Insert a grinding wheel with same dimensions (do not exceed the maximum dimensions
mentioned in the characteristics table).
- Replace the flange and tighten the retaining nut.
- Replace the protective cover.
Note: Replace the protective cover so as to prevent sparks and dust flying towards the user.
- Check that protective cover is placed in the correct position and that it does not move.
- The protective cover must always be installed during operation.
Note: turn the wheel by hand to make sure the cover is properly mounted and does not hinder the
movement of the wheel.
- Connect tool to mains and operate the tool with no load for at least 30s in a stable position
- Immediately stop operating the tool if strong vibrations or any other defect is detected.
CAUTION!
•
Do not to use dented or defective wheels
• Ensure that the dimensions of the wheel correspond to those which are indicated on the tool's
rating plate and that the wheel is perfectly fits the dimensions of the shaft.
• Do not use separate reducing bushes or adapters to mount grinding wheels with a bore diameter
greater than the diameter of the shaft.
• The maximum dimensions are [see specifications table].
• The rated speed on the disc must be higher than the rated speed of the grinder
4.7- Starting and Stopping (ON/OFF switching)
The switch is located on the front of the machine.
To start the machine: press the switch to position [I].
To stop the machine: press the switch to position [0].
ONLY for model PRTME075/150 (310186): the knob allows to switch On and OFF the tool as
well as to change the operating speed.
